HEBRIDEAN LIFE TOURS
Offering 4-6 hour private tours of Lewis & Harris, based on your preferences or prescribed routes, we visit the landmarks of the islands and some lesser-known attractions.
We cater for groups of up to 6 people (+2). Our guides are Lewis born and bred, providing you with experience of island life, culture, history and the Gaelic language. Monday to Saturday only.
Our tours depart from Stornoway at 9am. 4 hours is £300 - 6 hours is £420.

This was a wonderful tour and our guide Alan was very informative and fielded a myriad of questions from our group of 6 people. He was personable, knowledgeable, and truly flexible about allowing our group to make some unplanned stops when we saw something of interest. We saw all of the usual highlights and more, including a very old church, a brief stop to see alpacas and a lunch stop for amazing vegan pizza (“Crust” pizza located in a shipping container). Our day was busy but we never felt rushed. He also tried to time our stops to avoid the large tour buses which was an added bonus. We had a lovely day and would wholeheartedly recommend the tour!

Alan gave an excellent tour, pointing out facts about peat, which is everywhere in the countryside. He explained about agriculture (sheep) along the way. I would not try to take a public bus to this site as service is sporadic. These stones are older than stonehenge. In a day, it is easy enough to see the stones snd also visit Lews Castle if you can sort out the transportation. We didn't have time to visit mountainous Isle of Harris next door, but could see it in distance.
